The Hunt for White Christ temelji se na konceptualnoj priči koju je napisao basist i pjevač Johnny Hedlund o svijetu Odalheima i njihov ratnikova Midgarda, kao što na albumima As Yggdrasil Trembles, Odalheim i Dawn of the Nine.[2]
