18. svjetsko prvenstvo u atletici održat će se 2022. godine u gradu Eugeneu, u američkoj saveznoj državi Oregonu.^[1]^[2]^[3] Prvotno je bilo predviđeno da se održi od 6. do 15. kolovoza 2021. godine, a nakon odgađanja Olimpijskih igara 2020. zbog pandemije koronavirusa, iz organizacije svjetskog prvenstva razmotrili su mogućnost mogućnost promjene nadnevka održavanja svjetskog prvenstva 2021., uključujući pomicanje natjecanja u 2022. godinu.^[4] 8. travnja 2020. Vijeće Međunarodnog atletskog saveza najavilo je da će se športska priredba održati od 15. do 24. srpnja 2022. godine.^[5]
