These cups, filled with food or drinks, were offered in the streets in occasion of the elections; the cups had the name of a candidate engraved. The cups depicted were produced for 63 BC elections for 62 BC. With the cup on the left, Marcus Porcius Cato (Cato the younger) asks (petit) to be elected Tribune of the plebs. The cup on the right was sponsored by Lucius Cassius Longinus (praetor with Cicero in 66 BC) to support (suffragatur) Lucius Sergius Catilina (Catilinae) bid for consulate.

La de la izquierda corresponde con CIL VI 40904 = AE 1979, 74 y fue escrita en 63 a. C. para las elecciones de 62 a. C. promocionando a M. Porcius Cato -Catón el joven- para la elección de Tribuno de la Plebe, y reza: M(arcus) Cato quei petit tribunu plebei.
La de la derecha corresponde con CIL VI 40897 = AE 1979, 63, y en ella L. Cassius Longinus, Pretor en 66 a. C. junto con Cicerón, promociona a M. Sergius Catilina, y se desarrolla como: Cas(s)ius Longinu(s) quei Catilinae {su}/ sufragatur
