Denneplantasies bedek die westelike en suidelike hellings en besproeiingslanderye is aan die Kaaprivier en sytakke daarvan sigbaar.

Taken by the Enhanced Thematic Mapper Plus sensor on NASA’s Landsat 7 satellite, which acquired this natural-color image on May 1, 2001. The town of Barberton is located at the basin's southeastern limit. The basin is flanked by the Krokodilpoortsberge (northern limit), Drakensberg (western limit), Makhonjwa Mountains (southern limit) and Mountainlands (eastern side). Pine plantations cover the western and southern slopes, and irrigation agriculture is visible along the Kaap River and its tributaries.
