Licencija MIT (eng. MIT License) je permisivna softverska licencija koja potječe s Massachusettskog instituta za tehnologiju (MIT)[1] iz vremena kasnih 1980-ih. [2] Kao permisivna licencija, stavlja malo ograničenja na ponovnu uporabu i ima visoku kompatibilnost licencije.[3][4]
Za razliku od softverskih licencija copylefta, licencija MIT dopušta ponovnu uporabu unutar vlasničkog softvera, pod uvjetom da sve kopije softvera ili njegov znatan dio sadrži kopiju uvjeta licencije MIT i također obavijest o autorskim pravima.[4][5] Godine 2015.[6] i najmanje od 2020. do tijekom 2025.,[7] licencija MIT je bila najpopularnija softverska licencija na GitHubu.
Znameniti projekti koji rabe ovu licenciju su X Window System, Ruby on Rails, Node.js, Lua, jQuery, .NET, Angular i React.
