|ShortSummary    = Assane Diop plans the theft of a high-priced necklace from the [[Louvre]], which his father was accused of stealing from the Pellegrini family 25 years earlier. He enlists the help of a group of loansharks to whom he owes money. Under the alias Paul Sernine, Assane attends the auction for the necklace and wins. The loan sharks double-cross him and steal the necklace, but their getaway goes awry and they are arrested. Assane ends up in possession of the necklace. While investigating the case, Youssef, a police lieutenant, notices it bears resemblance to the stories of Arsène Lupin, then realizes Paul Sernine and Arsène Lupin are anagrams of each other. Assane gives his son Raoul a copy of ''[[Arsène Lupin, Gentleman Burglar]]'', given to him by his own father, who was framed for a previous theft of the same necklace and hanged himself in prison.

Dumont gives him the name of Fabienne Bériot, a disgraced former journalist who was blacklisted while investigating the Pellegrinis. Fabienne helps Assane acquire a tape connecting Hubert's arms dealing to a deadly terrorist attack on a French embassy in Kuala Lumpur. Assane anonymously posts an image from the tape on Twitter and threatens to release the video. Hubert denies the accusations, and his henchman Leonard starts stalking Fabienne. Meanwhile, Youssef is taken off the necklace investigation by Dumont, who realizes the police officer is coming closer to discovering the truth. Juliette Pellegrini, now convinced of her father's innocence, reveals to him that Assane is behind the accusations as well as the theft of the necklace. Leonard attacks Fabienne in her home and Assane later finds her body hanging from the ceiling.

Lupin je francuska misteriozna triler streaming televizijska serija koju su stvorili George Kay i François Uzan i koja je premijeru imala na Netflixu 8. siječnja 2021. Serija se sastoji od deset epizoda, s tim da je prvih pet objavljeno u siječnju 2021., a ostatak 11. lipnja 2021.[1] Netflix je objavio da će se snimati i treći dio.[2]

U seriji Omar Sy je u ulozi Assana Diopa, čovjeka koji je nadahnut pustolovinama majstora lopova Arsèna Lupina, lika kojeg je stvorio Maurice Leblanc početkom 1900-ih.[3] Prvi dio, koji se sastoji od pet epizoda, podnaslovljen je Dans l'ombre d'Arsène (U sjeni Arsèna), pozivajući se na inspiraciju primarnog lika.[4][5] Seriju je tijekom prvog mjeseca gledalo 70 milijuna domaćinstava, postajući najgledanija serija na Netflixu koja nije na engleskom jeziku.[6]

Radnja

Priča prati profesionalnog lopova imena Assane Diop, jedinog sina imigranta iz Senegala koji je došao u Francusku tražiti bolji život za svoje dijete. Kada je Asan bio tinejdžer bogati i moćni Hubert Pellegrini, poslodavac Assaneova oca, podmetnuo je njegovom ocu krađu skupe dijamantne ogrlice, a on se od srama objesio u svoju zatvorskoj ćeliji. Dvadeset i pet godina kasnije, inspiriran knjigom o gospodinu lopovu Arsènu Lupinu, koju mu je otac dao na njegov rođendan, Assane kreće osvetiti se obitelji Pellegrini koristeći karizmu, majstorstvo lopovluka, podmetanja i prerušavanja kako bi otkrio Hubertove zločine.

Snimanje je započelo krajem 2019. i trajalo je do ožujka 2020., kada su prekinuli zbog pandemije COVID-19. Trebali su ponovno početi u rujnu, ali onda je odgođeno za lipanj, i onda za srpanj. [6] U razvoju je druga sezona.

Drugi set od pet epizoda već je snimljen do kraja 2020., a objavljen je 11. lipnja 2021.[7]

Netflix i Omar Sy potvrdili su 18. studenoga 2021. da su u Parizu u tijeku snimanja trećeg dijela serije.[8]
